By limiting the use of common words, students have to come up with other words to describe things and think a bit outside the box. 2 Classroom activities can include memorizing monologues, taking part in simulations, role plays and the creation of skits, videos, commercials or other. In these activities students are encouraged to be creative and use the language in an extended format to get a message across and to communicate effectively. As in all aspects of language teaching culture is heavily involved here and helps to build the scenarios that students interact within. 3 Classroom activities can include using songs, raps, tongue twisters and poems that will involve plenty of repetition in a fun and interactive way that does not get tedious or boring. Native language models should be used as much as possible 4 Classroom activities can include games and role plays that encourage students to look at the context of a situation in order to determine the meaning of an ambiguous phrase or dialogue. Cultural knowledge is an important part of language acquisition 5 Classroom activities can include finding passages that contain relevant grammar points and leaving key words and phrases out. Students can work in pairs to fill in the correct form of a very or other words to complete the passage.
