Cropping a Portrait

According to Ben Lucas , a Seattle - based commercial portrait and wedding , cropping a portrait requires a certain technique depending on the type of portrait . For example , crop a person's full at the shin , thigh , torso or middle of the arm . That way it doesn't feel like we're amputating the person . Next , crop a person's at the hair or forehead just above the eyebrows . Don't crop at the or else the person will look bald . Also , you can crop a portrait by leaving in the direction of where the person is looking . This will leave the viewer of the photo with more . In short , with the right technique will give the viewer a better view of your portrait .
