Compléter tubing in laosVersion en ligne tubing in laos gapfill par Dyonne van Mulekom 1 The only reason people seem to visit Laos nowadays is to spend a day tubing down Mekong River on a notorious bar crawl in Vang Vieng . I went to Laos for other reasons but I was obviously going to experience this tubing bar crawl while I was there . What I will say before I tell you about the crazy day is that it is vital that you don't go too crazy . If you go crazy , there is a high chance you die . The Vang Vieng bar crawl was even notorious back in the late 90s and early 2000s but it had to be calmed down to the amount of tourist deaths . This was because of too many bars , a cocktail of drugs and alcohol and people not appreciating strong the Mekong River current is . Now there are only two bars I assure you it is still pretty crazy ! Starting at the top of the river I jumped out of the taxi and grabbed my massive rubber ring . The first bar was a short float down the river . I had to no effort in getting there as we came across a helpful local threw a rope into the river and pulled us in . Bar one was insane . People everywhere , beer pong tables , flip cup games and most importantly a fully stocked bar . Before I even set foot into the bar I handed a shot by a guy who seemingly was promoting the day . He had the best job in the world , getting drunk and getting other people drunker . Within one hour everyone was playing drinking games whether it was volleyball , flip cup or just finishing drinks for the fun of it . People dancing on tables and drinking from funnels and I loved every second of it . I could see it was so highly rated . An hour and a half later and we all arrived at the second bar . Thankfully there was lots of food at this bar which made for a good chance to sober up a little bit . This bar was much more relaxed , people were at the stage where they were just drunk talking . A few people had passed drunk , a few were in the distance throwing but most of us were chatting , drinking and drinking some more . It was a great atmosphere with great people . I wish there a few more bars along the river but after the second bar the crawl continued on land . The crawl on land is nearly crazy the first part . Irish bars , clubs and everything in between made this experience one of the best 24 hours of my travelling experiences so . It's a great opportunity to turn your trip to Laos an adventure tourism activity . Make sure you don't get cold because it's quite scary . A must go , but be safe !
