It has three main parts: the cerebrum, the cerebellum and the brain stem. They transmit information from the sensory organs and internal organs to the central nervous system. Sensory nerves Motor nerves The brain The spinal cord which is formed by nerve centres that interpret the information and develop responses. It is divided between the brain and the spinal cord. They transmit responses from the central nervous system to the muscles and glands of the body. Cell body Axons Dendrites which is a thick cord made up of many neurons. It goes through the inside of the spine and it is protected by the vertebrae. Both the central and the peripheral nervous system are made up of specialised cells which is formed by nerves that transmit the information.
