There are many different types of sector activities . farming is the cultivation of land to produce crops . Farmers can grow crops , which only need rainwater . They can also grow crops , which need extra water to grow . farming involves buying , selling , or keeping animals to produce food and other products . farming means animals spend a lot of time outdoors , in open spaces . farming means animals spend a lot of time indoors , in enclosed spaces . Fishing involves catching fish in different types of bodies of water . - fishing is carried out far away from the coast while coastal is carried out near the coast . The process of cutting down forests is called . is the exploitation of forests and tree plantations . involves taking natural materials from the Earth´s crust in two different ways . mining is carried out in tunnels below the Earth´s surface . - mining is carried out above ground .
