Tom is a at Swinburne TAFE . He started learning English a few months ago . At the beginning , English was very hard for him . He did not many words . He could not speak English easily . He felt shy in class . He was afraid of making mistakes . Sometimes he wanted to stop . But Tom kept working hard . He came to class every day . He listened carefully to his teacher . He asked questions when he did not understand . He wrote new words in a notebook . He practised with his classmates . He also did his homework every night . At home , he watched simple English videos . He listened to English conversations . He to speak English with his family . At first , he spoke very slowly . He often forgot words . His told him to keep practising . Tom followed his teacher's advice . He learned a few new words every day . He also read short English stories . After some time , he could understand more . He started to speak with more confidence . He was happy when he could answer questions in class . Now Tom speaks good English . He can to people at work and in shops . He can also help other students . Tom feels proud of his progress . He knows English is important to learn . He wants to improve his English every day . He says hard work and practice can help .
