Democracy involves rule by the people or their chosen representatives; monarchy is rule by a king/queen, autocracy by one ruler, theocracy by religious leaders.

A constitution lays out the framework of government and its powers; it isn't primarily about war, taxes, or just elections.

The legislature creates laws; the judiciary interprets them, and the executive enforces them. Monarchy is a form of rule, not a branch.

Separating powers (e.g., executive, legislative, judiciary) prevents the concentration of power and provides checks and balances.

In constitutional monarchies, the monarch is largely ceremonial; real political power lies in elected representatives or a prime minister.

Citizens participate by voting; rights include expression and due process, not direct control over military or judiciary.

Local government handles local services (sanitation, schools, road maintenance) rather than national diplomacy or currency.

The constitution establishes fundamental laws and rights; treaties are international agreements and bylaws are local rules.

In a parliamentary democracy, representatives legislate and the government is dependent on Parliament's confidence; power is not hereditary.

Elections enable accountability and representation; they do not guarantee wealth, are not campaigning-free, and do not auto-change constitutions.
