One morning , Max woke up in his small Minecraft house . He his arms , opened the door , and looked outside . The sky was . The grass was . The birds were singing . It was a beautiful day for an adventure .

Max put on his little and picked up his tools . He had a wooden , a small shovel , and a piece of bread . " Today , " he said , " I want to find something special . "

First , Max walked to the river . The water moved slowly and sparkled in the sun . He saw a in the water and a sheep near the trees . " Hello , fish ! Hello , sheep ! " said Max . The said , " Baa ! " Max laughed and kept walking .

Soon , Max came to a forest . The trees were tall and dark . There were flowers on the ground and vines on the trees . Max heard a soft sound in the bushes . " Who is there ? " he asked .

Out jumped a little .

" Oh ! " said Max . " You scared me ! "

The bunny twitched its nose and looked at Max .

" Do you want to come with me ? " Max asked .

The bunny in a circle . Max smiled . " I think that means yes . "

So Max and the bunny walked together through the forest . They crossed a small made of wood . They climbed a little hill . At the top of the hill , they saw a .

The cave was big and quiet . Max looked inside . It was .

" I need light , " said Max .

He made a torch and held it up high . The torch glowed bright yellow and orange . Now Max could see the walls . He could see shiny coal in the rock . He could see tiny bats sleeping above him .

Max took a deep . " Let ? s go in , " he said .

Inside the cave , the air was cool . Drip , drip , drip . Water fell from the cave . Max walked slowly . The bunny stayed close behind him .

Then Max saw something move .

The zombie came out from behind a and made a low sound . " Grrrr ? "

Max jumped back . " Oh no ! "

He did not want to fight . He looked around quickly . Then he had an idea . Max placed in front of the zombie . One block , two blocks , three blocks . Now the zombie could not get to him .

" Good thinking , " said Max .

The bunny hopped up and down .

Max and the bunny went deeper into the cave . They found in the wall . Clink , clink , clink ! Max used his to mine the iron . He put the iron in his backpack .

Farther in the cave , Max found a small . It was old and dusty . He opened it very slowly .

" A map ! " said Max . " Wow ! "

He opened the map on the ground . There was a red X near the bottom .

" What is this ? " Max asked .

The bunny looked at the map .

" I think this is , " said Max . " Let ? s go ! "

Max followed the map through the cave . He turned left at a tall stone wall . He turned right at a pool of . He stepped over little rocks and ducked under low stone . At last , he came to a deep hole in the ground .

Max looked down carefully .

At the bottom , he saw something shining .

" It must be treasure ! " he whispered .

But the hole was deep . Too deep to jump .

Max thought for a moment . Then he used dirt blocks to make a . One block down . Then another block down . Step by step , Max and the bunny climbed to the bottom .

At the of the hole , Max held up his torch .

There , in the wall , was a .

It was bright blue . It sparkled in the dark cave like a little star .

" A diamond ! " shouted Max . " I found a diamond ! "

He carefully used his pickaxe . Tap , tap , tap ! The diamond popped out . Max picked it up and held it in his hands .

" It ? s , " he said softly .

The bunny wiggled its ears .

Just then , Max heard a hiss .

Ssssssss ?

Max froze .

He turned around very slowly .

A creeper was behind him !

" Oh no , not a ! " cried Max .

The creeper came closer .

Max had to think fast . He grabbed water from his and poured it on the ground . The water pushed the creeper away and carried it into the corner of the cave .

" Run ! " said Max .

Max and the bunny up the dirt stairs as fast as they could . Up , up , up they went . The creeper hissed behind them , but Max and the bunny out of the hole just in time .

The cave shook a little , but Max was safe .

He sat on the and took a big breath .

" That was close , " he said .

The bunny sat beside him .

Max looked at the diamond again . Then he smiled . " We did it . "

Now it was time to go . Max followed the map back through the cave . He walked past the water . He walked past the chest . He walked past the place where he saw the zombie . At last , he saw the cave entrance and the bright outside .

The was turning orange and pink . Evening was coming .

Max and the bunny hurried home . They crossed the , went through the forest , and passed the river . At last , they reached Max ? s little house .

Inside , Max lit a torch and sat at his table . He put the diamond in a safe place . Then he cooked some food and shared a with the bunny .

" Thank you for helping me , " Max said .

The bunny twitched its nose and sat by the window .

That night , Max looked at the outside his house . He felt tired , happy , and proud .

" Today I found a diamond , " he said . " But the best part was the adventure . "

The bunny closed its eyes .

Max smiled and whispered , " Tomorrow , we can explore again . "

Then Max climbed into bed , pulled up his , and fell asleep , dreaming of castles , caves , treasure , and new adventures .
