They went to a beach called Shellharbour Beach to enjoy the ocean . While they were in the water , they having trouble swimming . The ocean can sometimes be strong and to swim in . People nearby saw that the couple needed help . Some kind people quickly ran into the and pulled the man and woman back to the beach . Two nurses who were not that day helped right away . A young man also helped bring the couple out of the water . The helpers tried to them by doing CPR . CPR is when someone presses on a person ? s chest and helps them breathe when their heart stops . Soon after , ambulance workers arrived and kept trying to . Sadly , even though everyone tried very hard , the man and woman could not be saved . They died at the beach . A police named Luke Geradts said the news was very sad . He shared kind thoughts with the couple ? s family and thanked the people who to help . He said the helpers did a brave and caring thing . They gave the couple the best chance they could . The officer also everyone that the ocean can sometimes be dangerous and unpredictable . This it can change quickly and surprise people . Beaches are fun places , but it is important to be in the water and safe .
