Broca’s area, located in the left frontal lobe, controls the muscles and planning needed to produce speech.

Wernicke’s area helps us understand the meaning of words and sentences we hear; it’s located near the auditory cortex.

The arcuate fasciculus is a bundle of nerve fibers that sends information between the speech production and comprehension areas.
