Impact: It could reduce animal suffering, deforestation, and greenhouse gas emissions. Fun fact: The first lab-grown burger cost $300,000 in 2013; now it’s less than $10! 3 Smart Contact Lenses Field: Wearable technology / Augmented reality How it works: These contact lenses display digital information directly in your field of vision — like navigation, messages, or fitness data. Impact : Could change how we interact with technology without using phones or screens. Fun fact: The prototype can project text and graphics onto the retina safely 4 Self-Healing Concrete Field: Construction & materials science How it works: Concrete mixed with special bacteria that produce limestone to fill cracks automatically when exposed to water.
