China's Belt and Road Initiative involves:

The Belt and Road Initiative is also known in Chinese—and previously in English—as the One Belt One Road Initiative. The Silk Road Economic Belt and Road refers to the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road.

The Belt and Road Initiative was launched in 2013.

The project is scheduled for completion in 2049. This coincides with the centenary of the People's Republic of China.

Three beltways have been approved for this project. The first is the Northern Beltway, the second is the Central Beltway, and the third is the Southern Beltway.

The central belt runs through Central Asia and Western Asia to the Persian Gulf and the Mediterranean.

According to the official statement, as of mid 2025, the number of countries that have joined the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) by signing a Memorandum of Understanding with China is 150.

Under the BRI, Chinese banks and companies are seeking to finance and build roads, power plants, ports, railways, 5G networks, and fiber optic cables around the world.

China's 'One Belt, One Road' initiative would pass through all of the aforementioned cities.
