People take words from another language when the appropriate words are not available or when they ignore it in the language they are using. It often differs from code-switches in form too. Sometimes, people adapt these words to their first language.

Contains Y

The name of a country where two approaches were taken to developing a standard written variety. One approach selected a variety based on Danish (H variety). The other approach created a new variety based on rural Norwegian dialects (L variety).
