Twins Amrit and Rabindra Singh are two artists I admire . In my opinion , their work is as interesting as any single artist , if not more so . The sisters are , so they're like two peas in a pod to look at . As students , they had a ride through the education system : they were separated into different classes at school to enable the teachers to tell them apart , and also later at art college so that each would her own style . Life wasn't plain sailing for them because of their background either - as British Asians , they faced not only from classmates , but also from art college tutors , who they ignore their own heritage in favour of Western culture and way of life . Refusing to act like sheep , the sisters by wearing identical clothes to their union as twins and by taking for their art from a traditional Indian medium : the miniature . They the features of these tiny detailed paintings and them with more up - to - date themes , such as and globalisation , to create a style they call 'past modern~ Today , these internationally artists exhibit their works under a single name : the Singh Twins .
