Forests are rich and diverse terrestrial ecosystems that cover a large part of the planet. They are characterized by the presence of trees and a wide variety of plants, creating a unique environment for wildlife. Forests are found on every continent except Antarctica and are divided into different types, such as tropical, boreal and temperate forests.
