Africa’s population is growing annually, ______so that the population can take themselves out of poverty. 2 Every year, farmers expand the area of land they are using in order to produce enough crops to make money . 3 Even with all the sophisticated tools available in different parts f the world, African farmers are using none of them, 4 Farmers use a lot of land just to produce enough crops, which is causing their farming techniques to become inefficient. The land is also becoming exhausted, 5 Africa is a continent where there are people living on very little because of the insufficient income they receive Although we know about the extreme poverty they suffer, we don’t understand the relationship it has with deforestation. which causes the large land area of abundant forest to be used to farm as a means of securing food, and because of the lack of fertilizers, the need for clearing more land continues even though their tools roughly damage the land. This process is named “shifting cultivation,” and it is causing a lot of deforestation
