Currently there is an exhibition on '100 jaar grote oorlog'. There are 2 rooms where you can see several pictures, texts, .. Let's start with the first room on your left. 2 Leaving Belgium Where can you cross the border? What do you need to cross the border? Are you allowed to cycle in town? Is there a curfew? Find a picture of a caricature of the Germans ( and take a picture). Do you think it's funny? 3 .. What's the VOS? Which three words are each time written on the british china? Who was Joannes Scheerders? Look at the panels made by the students of the broerderschool. Pick out your favourite poem and explain why you like this poem. ( each student individually) 4 Panels Look at all the funeral prayer cards. Look for the youngest person. Why isn't there a date of death on some of the funeral prayer cards? What happend to those people? Look at ALL the panels in the room. Pick out your favourite person. Say why exactly this is your favourite person. Is it because he or she has done something special or because this person lived in your town or ... 5 Marthe Mathilde Cnockaert Who was Marthe? When did she live? Why is there a panel of this woman? Why was she important? For which country did she work? What and where did she study? Was she given any awards after the war?
