GOTHIC ARCHITECTURE
The main characteristic are : the arch , the ribbed and the flying , the main material was the .
The was a city´s most important building : a symbol of religious power . Its design followed the croos plan , with three long and a transept that crosses it . Inside there were usuallly three storeys ( ) ; large windows filled with stained glass gave light and added colour to the interior . Outside there was a magnificent ( magnifico ) front with a large window in the center , with two either side .
Other - building , like castles , palaces , , or town halls also followed this characteristic pointed and ribbed vaults style .
SCULPTURE AND PAINTING
Gothic and was interested in realistic depiction . The theme is usually religious : the was favorite source of scene and inspiration .
