Electricity
You're using electricity all the time , even when you're not thinking about it . If you turn on in your house , heat or cool your house in the winter and summer , or charge your or watch , then you are using electricity .
Electricity is generated from coal or and more environmentally friendly sources like wind power , solar power , tidal power , biomass , and .
Basically , electricity helps us use daily items around the house so we have lights to see at night and charged phones to use to call our family and friends .
Benjamin discovered electricity through an experiment with lightning . In he did an experiment : He took a kite outside during a , got the string of the kite wet , put a metal key at the end and then let the kite float up into the storm . What he discovered was that the electricity from the storm clouds came down the string , and he received an electrical . Frankling showed that lightning was the same than electric from clouds .
Benjamin Franklin was lucky he only received a shock . That dangerous experiment , however , was the starting point for more scientists to experiment with electricity over the next years .
Warning : be careful with this experiment ! This is very dangerous and none of us should try it .
Don't touch anything electrical with wet hands . . . example : light switch , plugs , toaster , hair dryer . . etc
When do you use electricity in your everyday life ?
