MAKE a comment about your surroundings - for example , the ( " It's really cold today . " ) or the event ( " There are a lot of people here . " ) . 3 . ASK questions . Try to find something you have in common : " Are you new to the company , too ? " However , don't ask very questions , for example about someone's salary or age . 4 . LISTEN actively .
