The word Baroque comes from a Portuguese word : " Barocco " . That is a deformed .
This artistic period was developed from until ( J . S . death ) , which means , this style of European art was developed during the century and the first half of the 18th .
Throughout this time the was organized in 3 different groups . These groups were called and were : ( with privileges ) , ( Church , which had privileges ) and the " third " ( common people , who didn't have any political participation and they didn't have so much money ) .
This period was characterized by the Monarchy , that was developed in Europe from Luis XIV France .

II . - MAIN CHARACTERISTICS OF THE BAROQUE MUSIC
1 . - Use of the technique called , which is the use of a bass line over which chords are built up . The composer gives the main importance to the voices . The upper voice is the main Melody . The accompaniment is indicated by several that indicate to the music ( organists ) the chords that they can play .
2 . - between vocal and instrumental music .
3 . - It is the period of the birth of the music : opera , cantata , etc .
