EXCUSE Parents can have strong opinions about whom their daughter should or should not marry. Girls and young women my choose to listen to these opinions but they should never be forced to marry anyone they do not want to. BLAIM: No one ever asks to be abused or harmed. Culture is no excuse for harmful practices that prevent girls and young women's right to a life free from violence. EXCUSE: Violence against girls and young women is a form of control over them. Anger is never an excuse for violence.
