Inversion occurs when a chromosomes segment , rotates reattaches in that opposite . There are two types of inversion ; pericentric and paracentric . Pericentric inversion includes during mutation , while paracentric inversion does not includes centromeres during mutation . There is no change in the genotype , but may change .

Translocation refers to when a chromosome segment breaks and reattaches to another part of non chromosome . In nonreciprocal translocation , chromosome segment translocate to another region of homologous chromosome . In reciprocal translocation , an of segment occur between two chromosomes . This will lead to the change in position of the genes involved . However , there is no or loss of genetic materials , therefore no changes will happen . But phenotypical changes are possible .
