The objective of this activity is to learn more about comics, through the presentation, more vocabulary will be learned and cultural knowledge will be expanded.
Through comics, reading can be encouraged, in a fun and easy way.
WHAT IS A COMIC?- Series of vignettes that form a story.
- The comic has a narrative purpose because it has the drawings what the stories have the words.
- It is a visual means of verb-iconic narration that communicates the stories of one or more characters. It is a “sequential narration using still images” (Castillo, 2004: 248). That is, through a series of images (made up of drawn caricatures) that are complemented by texts.
ORIGIN OF THE COMICIt is influenced by the economic, social and cultural characteristics of the society in which it originates. Its history is related to the printing press and the cartoon.

ELEMENTS OF THE COMIC- Visual language: the image

THE VIGNETTE: It is each picture of the cartoon. THE FRAME: It is to select the part of reality that suits our story to introduce it in the vignettes.
THE GREAT PLANES GENERAL PLAN: Describes the environment where the action takes place and the characters are barely perceived.
THE PLANES GENERAL PLAN: The references to the environment are less because the human figure takes center stage, which is shown from head to toe.
ANGLES: Point of view from which the action is observed. It gives depth and volume to the vignette, it can connote greatness or smallness.Types of angles- Normal: or medium angle: at eye level.
- Chopped: from top to bottom and connotes inferiority.
- Contrapicado: from bottom to top. It connotes superiority.
- Zenith angle or absolute dive: absolute perpendicular view of reality.

- It seeks to give different effects depending on the plane and angle chosen.
FORMATSIt is the relationship between the frame, the vignette, space and real time. It gives rhythm to the comic. It represents the frame of the paper, it can be rectangular (horizontal or vertical), circular, triangular, square, etc., it implies choosing a size.
ColorsWithin the visual composition of the comic, the application of color can fulfill four functions, namely: figurative, aesthetic, psychological and significant.- Figurative to give the image realism.
- Aesthetic, beautify the image.
- Psychological, provoke emotions, stimulate feelings.
- Significant to connote different meanings according to a context.
VERBAL PART LINGUISTIC TEXTS- Express dialogues and thoughts of the characters.
- They introduce supporting information on the billboard.
- They evoke the noises of reality through onomatopoeia.
SNACKS In this space the texts that the characters say or think are placed. It has two parts: the top or balloon and the corner or delta that points to the character who is thinking or speaking. The balloon is considered a perfect example of the integration of verbal and iconic components. BILLBOARD AND CARTRIDGE Cartela is the voice of the narrator and is external to the image of the action. It is placed on top of the bullet in a rectangular shape, it may or may not appear. The cartridge links two consecutive bullets. ONOMATOPOEIA Represents the sound, outside or inside the vignette can be placed.
RELAY AND ANCHOR Covers jumps in time, so that the chronological sense is not lost. The anchor adds extra information.
TYPOGRAPHY That is, the typeface. Generally, the printing type is used. It all depends on the character and the tone you want to express yourself. In a scream the letters are capitalized or large, for example.
CONVENTIONAL SIGNSVISUAL METAPHOR: It is a graphic convention, that is, a standard accepted by means of a pact and by custom to express an idea through an image. KINETIC FIGURES OR LINES: It is another conventional sign that offers the illusion of movement through the use of stripes, curves, clouds of dust, stones in the air, etc.
SIGNS OF SUPPORT: They serve to enrich the expression of the characters in a story.
