Map scale :
The relationship between the representation of a distance or an object on a map and its size in real life .

Geographical coordinates :
A way of locating any place on the Earth's surface in the geographical network , by means of the intersection of two imaginary lines , a parallel that indicates and a meridian that indicates .

Meridian :
An imaginary semicircle to the equator that passes through the geographic poles , with respect to which longitude is measured . All the points located on the same meridian have the same and , therefore , the same solar .
Since 1884 , the meridian that passes through the English observatory at ( 0° ) has been used internationally as a reference meridian ( from which longitude is measured ) .
