I had to really think about what we have learned and had to try a few times before completing it at 100%.

This was not an easy task but after a couple of tries and seeing the final results, they totally make sense!!

This was tricky. There were factors that I considered to be higher that were not! I'd love to give this to my team.

Very interesting! I had imagined that nearly all of them would be fairly high. It was pretty tough to choose. Student control over learning and problem-based learning were much lower than I had expected, especially since there seems to be a big push right now for pbl. I have really enjoyed the variety of activities that you have provided, as well as the option to do them instead of some of the, sometimes monotonous posts. :0)

I had to try several times before I matched all the sections correctly! I knew that feedback is key in teaching and learning, but I was not expecting it to be the second most important on the list. That was fun and challenging!! Thank you Dr. Nuss!!!!!

I was really challenged with the intricacies of the percentages that the author had investigated based on teacher and classroom performance. There were so many variables that at times were really confusing but in the end it was quite a learning experience nonetheless!

This game was a tad bit challenging. However it really sheds light on how each approach affects student achievement. I was nervous.

I had to play this game several times. It was really challenging at first to find correct matches. I think what hindered me was that I had preconceived ideas as to what are the biggest influencers on student achievement. I really though motivation would have been in the top three and I thought tapping into different learning styles would have been higher than in 8th place. My school does highlight feedback which John Hattie identified as the 4th most significant influencer, so I definitely want to seek effective ways to provide feedback.

My experience playing the game was very challenging, but at the same time I wanted to get all the answers correct within the less amount of time. First, I played the game with the assumption I knew the percentages, but then it turn out to I was wrong. I only had one correct answer, and then the second time around I had two correct answer. As I kept playing the game, and remembering the two I got correctly I was able to build on it. I must admit the timing was a little bit frustrating. I was trying to read and scroll down and read the percentages to find out the game was over. Eventually, I started picking up the speed and memorizing the correct answer that I had originally matched.

Wow! I agree with Diana that this activity was both challenging and surprising. I assumed that matching learning styles would have been a major factor in student achievement, when in reality, it was on the lower end of affecting student learning. It seems that the most important factors are the teacher's feedback, interventions, attitudes, and credibility. Thank you so much for this informative activity!

This was very challenging and surprising!!! How is that the class size affects children's learning in such a small percentage? And it really demonstrates how important is the teacher efficacy and credibility to influence learning. I am puzzled why is the student control over learning so low?? I had always heard that when students set goals for their own learning they are more motivated to meet the goals and own their learning, so this level of influence did not mach what I previously believed. Or is the student control over learning referring to something different? Very interesting exercise!! Thank you!!
