It takes its name from the phrase “by time” (wal- ʿāṣr) par fatma fahmy 1 and enjoin one another to [follow] the truth, and enjoin one another to patience. 2 By Time! 3 Indeed man is in loss, 4 except those who have faith and do righteous deeds, إِنَّ الإِنسانَ لَفي خُسرٍ وَالعَصرِ إِلَّا الَّذينَ آمَنوا وَعَمِلُوا الصّالِحاتِ وَتَواصَوا بِالحَقِّ وَتَواصَوا بِالصَّبرِ
