Based on the Investigation conclusions , it is recommended that a food waste decomposer be installed in the cafeteria . The food waste decomposer is more economical and less problematic than the other two options .


1 . Implementation

To implement the recommended proposal , a of HK$1 , 000 , 000 will be to install the food waste decomposer in six months .

To enable the Park to benefit from the irrigation water produced by the food waste decomposer , a new irrigation system would be recommended . The Headquarters of Greenery Park would have to liaise with the Facilities Management Office for the building of the new irrigation system .

While the food waste decomposer organic food waste , it would be important to have a stable source of food waste in order to maintain the of the system . It is suggested that meetings be held with the management of the cafeteria to make arrangements for the collection of food waste . To address the concern about its impact on the environment , it is advised to install the food waste decomposer in a well - ventilated area to eliminate any possible bad smells escaping .
