The Sopranos is an excellent TV series which based on the everyday life of a family of American gangsters . It was by David Chase .
The main character , Tony Soprano , is a charismatic waste consultant who lives in New Jersey . He is also a member of the American Mafia . The plot is about the difficulties Tony Soprano faces in his life . These difficulties explored when Tony talks to his counsellor . His counsellor Jennifer Melfi is by Lorraine Bracco .
The pilot was in 1997 . It filmed at Silvercup Studios and on location in New Jersey . The Sopranos was by HBO . The Sopranos is noted for its varied music selections .
The series was controversial at times . The Soprano family was regarded as a good model for American families because it included a lot of violence and sex . What is more the show has been for including negative stereotypes about Italian Americans . Despite these issues , the series ranked first in the Rolling Stone Magazine list of the 100 greatest TV shows of all time .
In conclusion , the show has nominated for Emmy Awards every year that it was on TV . Many important prizes been won by the actors and actresses in the series . It is probably one of the best drama series of all time .
