It can be very dangerous, but different viruses do different things. You can lose all your files, music and photos. Viruses can’t attack your computer with the right protection so make sure all your gadgets are safe.
You mustn’t tell anyone your password and you must create a strong password. A password has to be difficult for another person to guess. For example, use letters and numbers that are important to you. Make it as random as you can, but you still have to remember if! If someone hacks your account, tell a parent, teacher or carer immediately. then change your password and even your email address. Ask a grown up to help you.
If there was a website address in the text message, then it’s possible it’s a virus. Like a computer, you have to protect your mobile phone. Download anti-virus software for your phone to protect it. If in doubt, ask an adult. They’ll help you delete the virus safely.
