After winter native American (Indians) came to visit Pilgrims. They were friendly. Native American helped Pilgrims how to grow crops.

Long time ago, in 1620, a ship called Mayflower came to America. There was a group of about one hundred people on the ship. They were called Pilgrims and they came from England.

When they arrived, it was winter, and it was very cold. The Pilgrims didn't have food and they were very hungry. They tried to grow crops and build small houses, but it was too late.

The year after, Pilgrims had a lot of food for the winter, they had houses, so they were in safe. They made a big dinner and invited the Indians to eat with them. The feast lasted for three days. They ate turkey, corn, potatoes and pumpkin.

The Pilgrims started to build their new life: they cut down trees, built houses and hunted wild turkeys.

The winter was long and many of them got sick and died. It was a terrible time for them.

That was the first Thanksgiving in America and the Pilgrims were thankful for all the things they had.
