The protein is secreted:
The Golgi apparatus repackages the proteins into the vesicles from the endoplasmic reticulum.
The production of protein requires energy. The cell's mitochondria generate the necessary energy.
The vesicles from the Golgi migrate towards the cell's plasma membrane and secrete their contents to the outside of the cell, by way of exocytosis.
The nucleus sends the ribosomes a copy of the segment of DNA that carries the information needed to build the protein.
The newly constructed proteins are passed into the interior of the endoplasmic reticulum, where they are transported.
The ribosomes follow the instructions carried by the gene and produce the proteins from simple molecules.
