Mr. B: We think she’s making an enormous mistake.
Yes that is correct!
Mrs. B: Of course, but she’s made up her mind. We’re just hoping that she’ll get it out of her system and then come to her senses and go back to her studies. When I graduated from high school I didn’t go to college, and I’ve regretted it ever since. I just don’t want her to make the same mistake I did.
Mr. B: That’s true, but once she gets a taste of freedom, she’ll find it harder to go back to college. I just think it’s such a waste – four years from now, she’ll have graduated and she’ll still be young enough to try out the music business. At least if it doesn’t work out, she’ll have a qualification behind her.
Mrs. B: Until a few months ago, she was going to go to college, but she’s changed her mind. Now she figures she’s going to make it in the music world.
Mr. B: You mean financially? No. She won’t be living at home, and we can’t afford to pay for her to live in Los Angeles, so it’s up to her to make it work.
